The FOUNDATION

Our foundation is dedicated to helping horses recover and regain their strength, creating meaningful connections between these incredible animals and young riders. Through compassionate support and community efforts, we aim to nurture a new generation of riders who appreciate and care for their equine partners, fostering a nurturing and inspiring equestrian environment.

Friesland Equestrian Foundation, every horse is given a second chance to heal and thrive—restoring strength, trust, and mobility through expert, compassionate care.

Rehabilitation

At Friesland Equestrian Foundation, we believe that every horse deserves care, patience, and a second chance. Our rehabilitation programs are designed to help horses recover physically and emotionally whether they are injured, neglected, or retired from performance sports. With a dedicated team of veterinary professionals and experienced handlers, we create a safe environment where horses can regain strength, trust, and mobility.

 

Competition and Events Participated in 2025

  1. Verein Deutscher Distanzreiter und -fahrer e.V. (VDD) – The foundation sponsored two riders whom completed the 120km race 4th and 5th place. 
  2. Kader training in Berlin Branderburg – The foundation sponsored two riders to participate in this invitation only event in Berlin.
  3. Stuhr Endurance Race – Two riders were sponsored for 104km race in 2025 as the qualifier for German Championship. 
  4. Schlipse Endurance Race – Riders were sponsored for 86km race as the qualified for the German Championship. 

Facilities & Training Programs

Facilities

Our facilities feature a full-scale, all-season sand riding paddock, spacious winter paddocks for up to 11 horses, and seven lush summer paddocks—ensuring exceptional care, comfort, and exercise opportunities for horses year-round.

  • Flatwork Exercises: Improving balance, suppleness, engagement, and responsiveness through walk, trot, canter, transitions, circles, spirals, and lateral movements.
  • Jumping Training: Gradual introduction to poles and jumps to build confidence, coordination, and technique.
  • Trail Riding: Exposing horses to varied terrain and environments for mental stimulation and fitness.
  • Obstacle Courses: Enhancing agility, coordination, and problem-solving skills with poles, cones, water crossings, and other challenges.
  • Longeing: Groundwork that builds fitness and responsiveness with controlled movement in circles at varying gaits.
  • Interval Training: Alternating trot and canter to improve endurance and cardiovascular fitness.
  • Hill Work: Trotting or cantering uphill and downhill to strengthen hindquarters and build muscle.
  • Groundwork Exercises: Trust-building, obedience, flexibility, and foundation skills done from the ground.
  • Trick Training: Fun, stimulating exercises like nose targeting or liberty work to challenge the horse mentally.
